Ministry of Social Affairs Dignitary Lead Delegation in Inspection of Rehabilitation Center

Banteay Meanchey: On Saturday, September 23, 2023, H.E. Nhek Vannara and H.E. Suon Sothy, the Secretary of State at the Ministry of Social Affairs, Veterans, and Youth Rehabilitation, led a delegation on a comprehensive inspection of the Rehabilitation Center for Victims of Trafficking located in Poipet City, Banteay Meanchey.

The event was attended by esteemed leaders and skilled professionals from the Ministry, including H.E. Dean Borey, the Director-General of the General Department of Social Services, as well as representatives from the Department of Victim Assistance, the Banteay Meanchey Provincial Department of Social Affairs, Veterans, and Youth Rehabilitation, and the Chairman of the Center.

During this visit, H.E. Nhek Vannara, Secretary of State of the Ministry of Social Affairs, Veterans, and Youth Rehabilitation, inspects the condition of the center’s new buildings and the overall infrastructure and management of each facility. Additionally, a meeting was convened with the center’s staff, during which valuable recommendations were provided for its efficient management. These recommendations encompassed areas such as water and electricity management, food preparation for the victims, accommodation arrangements within the center, and the planting of trees to provide shade and fruit.

H.E. Nhek Vannara emphasized the importance of dedication among all officers, urging them to perform their duties responsibly to ensure the sustainability of their work. He expressed his wishes for the well-being and effectiveness of all officers working within this new center.

It is worth noting that the center currently faces a shortage of vehicles for transporting victims.
