Phnom Penh: On the morning of Friday, November 10, 2023, H.E Dean Borey, Director General of Social Services, engaged in discussions with Mrs. Marianna Garofalo, Chief of UNICEF Child Protection Division. The meeting focused on crucial agenda items:
- Introduction of UNICEF Focal Officers for Coordinated Collaboration on Child Protection with the Ministry.
- Implementation of the Primero Child Case Management System and collaborative efforts with the Ministry of Interior on child protection.
- Preparation for a review meeting to assess the outcomes of the 2023 cooperation between UNICEF and the Ministry of Social Affairs and the formulation of a rolling plan for 2024-2025 for the execution of child protection programs.
- Initiation of the “Strong Family Campaign” with the goal of eradicating violence against children and preventing unnecessary family separation of children in Cambodia.
