Phnom Penh – In a significant event held on the morning of November 14, 2023, H.E Chea Somethy, the Minister of Social Affairs, Veterans and Youth Rehabilitation, accompanied Prime Minister Samdech Hun Manet to the inauguration ceremony of the “Voluntary Social Security Program” and “Vocational Training Program for Youth from Poor and Vulnerable Families.” The ceremony took place at the Sokha Phnom Penh Hotel.

Addressing the attendees, Prime Minister Samdech Hun Manet directed the Ministry of Labor and Vocational Training to collaborate with relevant partners in extensively promoting the social security program for healthcare through voluntary contributions. He also emphasized the importance of spreading awareness about the “Vocational Training Program for young people from poor and vulnerable families.”

Samdech Hun Manet highlighted that the Ministry of Labor would actively monitor these programs, address challenges, and evaluate their effectiveness to ensure quality service. Furthermore, he urged the Ministry of Labor to sustain collaboration with the private sector to ensure the success of these initiatives. The Prime Minister expressed his optimism that the youth would benefit significantly from these programs, providing them with unique opportunities to enhance their skills and capabilities.
