Phnom Penh, November 14, 2023 – In a significant development, H.E. Dean Borey, Director General of the General Department of Social Services, and H.E. Sous Prathna, Director General of the General Department of Administration at the Ministry of Interior, jointly presided over the commencement of a national consultation workshop. The workshop, held on Tuesday morning, engaged relevant institutions in discussions regarding the draft manual on child protection procedures designed for municipal and district administrations.

The workshop witnessed the participation of relevant Ministries at both the national and sub-national levels, Battambang Provincial Administration, along with partner organizations, totaling 80 participants. UNICEF provided crucial support for the event.

This workshop marks the final phase of consultations on the draft handbook for child protection operations procedures tailored for municipal and district administrations. Following this round of discussions, the next step involves seeking approval from the leadership of the Ministry of Social Affairs, Veterans and Youth Rehabilitation, as well as the Ministry of Interior, before official implementation can be pursued.
