Phnom Penh – On the afternoon of Friday, November 24, 2023, H.E Sok Buntha, Secretary of State at the Ministry of Social Affairs, Veterans and Youth Rehabilitation, presided over a meeting focused on preparing a comprehensive report regarding the ministry’s activities in the social sector. This report is intended for submission to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, aiming to provide information to Prime Minister Hun Manet at the request of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation. Additionally, the meeting aimed to prepare a report for the Minister of Social Affairs, Veterans, and Youth Rehabilitation.

The gathering was in anticipation of an upcoming meeting with Mr. Vitit Muntarbhorn, the Special Rapporteur on the situation of human rights in Cambodia. Various specialized units and relevant department, including representatives from the Cambodian National Council for Children, Disability Action Council, National Social Assistance Fund, General Department of Social Policy, General Department of Social Services, General Department of Rehabilitation, Department Directors, Presidents of the National Center for Treatment and Rehabilitation of Drug Addicts, Youth Rehabilitation Center, Center for Care and Rehabilitation of Mental Illness, Phnom Penh Social Welfare Center (Prey Speu), and the National Center for Infants and Children, actively participated in the preparation process.
